PRE-REGISTRATION DEPOSITS NOW BEING ACCEPTED FOR CJCI CONVENTION 2020


We have excellent news! We’ve exceeded our goal of 75 deposits. CJCI Convention 2020 is a definite go the weekend of October 23-25, 2020!

ABOUT THE EVENT

CJCI Convention 2020, like our past events, will include a wonderful melding of jewelry buying and selling, educational opportunities, and a chance to get to know other collectors. More information on specific guest speakers, educational workshops, and pre-conference activities will be announced as our planning continues.

We hope to open registration in late 2019. At that time full registration fees will be accepted, and those who have made deposits will be welcome to pay the remainder of their fee. We anticipate it to be on par with the 2017 fee (in the neighborhood of $375-425 with an additional cost of $30-50 to have a table at the open-to-the-public show and sale).

The registration fee includes all meals from Friday evening through Sunday morning; admission to all educational workshops; admission to the Saturday show and sale for non-sellers; and an invitation to participate in all pre-conference activities arranged for the group.


The event will be held at the newly renovated Radisson Hotel Providence Airport in Warwick, Rhode Island, and their staff is ready to take your room reservation ($119 double or king/$139 suite). Please call the Radisson directly at 401/739-3000 and mention that you are with Costume Jewelry Collectors Int’l to receive the group rates.

WHAT’S NEXT?

We’ve decided to leave pre-registration deposits open through September 30, 2019. We would love to have at least 100 deposits on our books by that date to ensure that we have a really great event for all our attendees.

Several people have asked how much the attendance fee will be for the 2020 event. We don’t anticipate it being significantly higher than what folks paid to attend in 2017. We are waiting to get updated menu pricing from the hotel, however. Until then, we cannot quote an exact fee but we will continue to accept $100 deposits.

Additional Pre-Registration Deposits:

    • Allow us to exceed our break-even point in attendance, which mitigates a larger portion of our personal financial exposure in meeting guarantees with the hotel;
    • Help us with planning as we determine the fee for the event and budget for activities;
    • Pay the first $100 toward the registration fee for attendees.

PLEASE NOTE REGARDING YOUR DEPOSIT:


Non-refundable – Since we have signed a contract with the venue and will be continuing our planning, the deposit will not be refundable even if the payee cannot attend in 2020. We will need these funds to mitigate our exposure to venue fees should we have to cancel the convention or have a low turnout for the event.
