How To Make Jewelry
Jewelart Inc. was a company that sold base metal settings and findings, stones, and other supplies to individuals who wanted to make their own jewelry. In these 1971 and 1972 catalogs the company is self described as a manufacturer and importer, which was located in Van Nuys, CA. We’re not sure how long they were in business, but these catalogs are marked numbers 13 and 14. We also don’t know if they marked any of their items. I read in an online discussion group that they closed sometime in the early 1980s. This company should not be confused with the Jewel Art Co. of Providence, RI.
I did not include all the pages from each catalog because many of them were duplicates. Also not included were pages of ring settings, small filigrees, earring findings and other assorted supplies. Many of the exact items are still being made today by various companies. Many thanks to ID: Grammie**2**17 for sharing her copies of these two Jewelart Inc. catalogs with RCJ for you to enjoy. 1972 catalog pages are below the 1971 catalog pages. Please contact Dotty at jewels@illusionjewels.com if you have more information on this company, or if you have old jewelry catalogs or other jewelry paper items you would like to share on RCJ. |
